We can do it: our TCI pipe saw makes us a special partner of nuclear technology companies.

This large pipe saw, the TCI pipe saw, is an in-house development and an integral part of our product portfolio. It was developed as a throughput machine to saw open pipes lengthways and is mainly used in the dismantling and decommissioning of nuclear power plants. The saw is available in two sizes (standard saw blade 34×1,1, deflection wheel and drive wheel Ø650, blade guides made of carbide): Ø33.7 – Ø139.7; Ø88.9 mm – Ø273 mm and a belt speed up to 500 m/min and a feed rate up to 800 mm/min. The maximum connected load is 3.0 kW and the machine can saw through wall thicknesses of 3.0 – 12.0 mm. The large machine boasts numerous additional functions such as saw blade monitoring and infeed and support tables.

The development of the pipe saw machine stems from a customer project, namely the dismantling of the Isar nuclear power plant in Essenbach together with PreussenElektra AG. It has since been used at numerous dismantling sites: Isar, Krümmel, Brunsbüttel, Grafenrheinfeld and Unterweser.

The entire production and assembly is carried out at our plant, and we also take over the commissioning at the customer’s plant by assembly staff who are vetted to assure their reliability.
